in search of new
thrills-on-wheels
dreams of motorcycle;

with speed’s blur…
wind-in-face freedom.
middle-age parents
experience concern,
envision fragile-ness
of life-and-limb;
postpone possibility
until son leaves family nest…

easter day
snowy outside
greenery indoors
we expect spring colors
winter white surprises world
garden bulbs hidden underground
bouquet of tulips brightens our feast
celebrate Son who died, then rose to life

Kristjaan at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai features “troiku” (each line of initial haiku is beginning line of three more haiku in a series). I wrote my own haiku to begin…
bare branches burst forth
spring budding freshly green leaves
renewal of life

birds improvise on treesong
winter’s day is done
spring buds fresh green leaves
young rabbits nibble new grass

Psalm 104 is a poem that celebrates creation! I write a humble triolet for earth day. Okay, I’m a day late but to a farmer every day is earth day, right?!
bless the Lord who forms the earth
he calls us to be caretakers
let creatures thrive, let life give birth
bless the Lord who forms the earth
air, water, soils of priceless worth
forgive us wasteful mess makers
bless the Lord who forms the earth
he calls us to be caretakers

paintbrush crush
colour your wourld
kiwi lime and cyanberry

your right(eous) brain
from livin’ life out loud

in free verse, scripture Tags: breath, eternity, flame, keeper, life, soul
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. -Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
the soul
is a spark
is a flicker
is a flame
lit by holy fire
fanned by living breath
exhaled into existence
encoded in DNA
embodied in flesh
enveloped in love
to live
to learn
to laugh
to lament
until death separates.
never extinguished
ever released
to an eternity of life’s choice:
with or without the Keeper of souls.
Inspired, in part, by the scribblings of the beautiful souls who are dVerse Poets.

I John 4:19
Jesus IS…the first,
best,
greatest,
true love of my life.
God IS…the author
of all real love.
He pursues his own with a
relentless,
unconditional,
irresistible gracious love.
In fact,
“God is crazy about YOU…and there’s nothing you can do about it!”
(to quote an anonymous coffee cup)

how long believe
blind rhetoric?
why hire doctors
to do harm?
instrumental rape
violates mother with child
what kind of ghastly
choice is offered?
by salt poisoning, chemicals,
or crunch of infant skull
when will men honor
mothers’ calling?
where have hope’s
children gone?
Linking with dVerse Poets quadrille prompt…sorry this topic is neither pleasant nor Christmasy. Yet our brokenness and sin is why Christ came…as an infant to a poor, young woman in seemingly scandalous circumstances. Would we have aborted Jesus?
